Lipton's Confetti Royale

Cori
March 1987-September 1991

Sire: Ch. Bobwin Sir Black Ash, Dam: Lipton's Tara O'Mardi Gras
Bred by Susan Carter, LIPTON.
Portrait by Bobbie Kolehouse, 1989.

Lipton's Confetti Royale, Cori, was my first showbred Cocker. She was a lovely, plush headed black.  We didn't make it to the showring, but we did some obedience training and she earned a spot in the top three in her class with a pretty trophy.

Then, she left me. Cori died at my parent's home after she followed my father out the door into the yard and laid in the shade under a truck. My parents were taking care of both Cori and Fancy, plus Esme, my Siamese cat during a temporary transition.

Losing her was one of many, many losses that year.
She is in my heart always and I will always love you, Cori Doll.

Bobwin Lipton's Fascination

Fancy

July 23, 1987 - June 5, 2000

Sire: Ch Bobwin Sir Black Ash, Dam: Ch Bobwin Sensation.
Bred by Winnie Vick, BOBWIN
and Susan Carter, LIPTON.

Fancy, Bobwin Lipton's Fascination, was a half sister to Cori. A silver buff, my daughter, Jaimi, called her "Fancy" because she was feminine, lovely and "fancy".

She always was a princess.
When I moved to Stevens Point, she'd go to the university with me at night and was a surrogate pet for graduate and undergraduate students who would take turns walking her.
She was determined and dignified, and always a lady.My Fancy Pants...my little garden Cocker. Your gardens are lovely with pink, silver and lavendar flowers.

2006-Your pink begonias are blooming already in the house in a little pot. I'll plant them on your grave this spring, again. Love you Fancy.

2008-Your pink wax begonias are blooming in the window. The pink geraniums are greening up, one bloomed already.

August 2008- Fanc, you've suddenly company with Victor, Brendan, Sadie and now Damien joining you in your flower garden. I planted a tomato and cucumber in the bed alongside your gravesites. And there are royale purple Wavee petunias, red petunias, and nigellia planted on your place. Moss roses, cone flowers, marigolds and impatients are on Damien's end of the garden, opposite yours.

Waiting
While at the gates of heaven,
after we said goodbye today,
I curled up tight inside myself,
though not really sure just why.

An angel came quietly to my side,
and softly stroked my head
with a touch like a sigh.

For a moment I thought it you.
I opened up my eyes but
it wasn't, and I shuddered
and began to cry.

"Come inside, little one,"
the gentle soul did say.
"Today, you come to heaven,
where everyone can play."

"No, no," I whimpered,
"I must sit here and wait.
Wait as I've done many, many times before."

"Not a bark, not a growl, not a noise will I make,
I only wish to sit here, patiently and wait."

"Wait then little one,
but do not be afraid,"
"We will sit here both together,
and here we both will wait."

So together we are waiting,
waiting until you to come along,
And together we listen,

Ffor your step, your whistle, and song.
