Worthy of Emulation

I see him each morning
Elderly, seemingly infirm...
Yet doing his best
To help others.
Seeing me tending my flowers,
He smiles...waves...
Making me feel better.
He gets into his van
And drives off
On his chosen rounds,
Leaving a wake of goodwill;
Coupled with my admiration
For someone forsaking
A well-earned life of ease
For a life of continued usefulness.
