Wanings
The sun wanes,
Its warmth diminishing daily,
Urging us to savor
It more fully in its brevity.
The days shorten,
Encouraging us to treasure
The bounty of fleeting moments.
Amid all the wanings,
The satisfying recognition:
To have been accorded life,
For no matter how brief a time,
Is a privilege beyond measure.
