I'm collecting links to other web sites here. Some are full of links themselves.
OR Back To first page of rail links, first page of rail links
Or to Third page, links about Cameras and kites and church web sites
RailRoad Hobby or History related, in no particular order except MAYBE more recent ones I've found are on top. Let me know if any don't work. I can't keep up-to-date with them all. Apologies if I didn't describe your web sites very well.

And to find out where to explore, try my favorite source for good maps and aerial photos on the Internet:
TERRASERVER MAPS (2003)
Or try my second-best (because they don't zoom in as close, and do they have aerial photos?) favorite source for maps on the Internet:
TOPOZONE MAPS

Note from (Max?) 2005 TerraServer is fine but there is a much better program out there. A member of the Milwaukee Road group mentioned it in a post and I decided to give it a try. It's called USAPhotoMaps 2.67. It's a free download from www.jdmcox.com
The program uses images from TerraServer. Unlike TerraServer the images fill almost the entire screen, the images that you download are saved in a file for future reference. You can set waypoints or locations on the images, after you get what you want downloaded, you can seemlessly move about the image with the arrow keys, can also zoon in and out. I've not only downloaded most of the interesting railroad features in Wisconsin, active or abandoned, I have also downloaded many of the major railroad engineering masterpieces in the U.S. Be warned the program can get addictive, but it's great fun.

PDF download of Wisconsin 2004 state rail map, might have to modify address in 2005? (2004)
A friend pointed out some very interesting links...excellent resource .PDF files to the Wisconsin rail network:
Wisconsin 2004:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/localgov/docs/railmap2004.pdf
Wisconsin 2005:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/localgov/docs/railmap2005.pdf
Perhaps nothing new to you all on this list, but I thought it to be a
valuable resource, esp. since so many lines have been abandoned since the SPV was published for this region over 8 years ago.
And a note about old rails on USGS maps, many OLD maps were kept in the BOTTOM of the map drawers at the Map Library, Science Hall, UW Madison, Wi. New maps were on top of the piles.

Yahoo___________
Great group to join (for free) to share information on many topics,
YAHOO GROUPS and it just takes time to figure out how to sign in and search for the groups you want. It's fast AFTER you've done it the first time. And unless you're desparate to get e-mail, I suggest just choosing "view messages from the web site".
From the 'groups home page', you can search or 'join a group' fastest by typing exactly the name of the group. If you do a general search for 'railroads', you may get more Grand Funks than you can shake a computer mouse at.
I suggest WCinfo (for Wisconsin Central RR), milw (Milwaukee Road), cnw, GBW, wisrail, TwinPortsRail, yooperrails (for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). There are over a thousand railroad groups.
Typical address of just one group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yooperrails
Some Yahoo groups are available to 'public', you don't have to 'sign in' as a member.
such as Michigan Railroads. I think you can read messages, just can't submit messages until you sign in as a member.
