WC 2500 in Rapids

Continuing the picture story of last Sunday, July 2nd, in central Wisconsin.

The guys were surprised and happy to see the WC 2500, the only SD 35.

At Nekoosa Junction at noon, this job was putting together their train and heading back to Rapids.

Interesting detail to model in that chain on the trucks.

We all got pictures later in the day from a highway overpass.
Colorful variation on that roof.

At the end of the day, they went to the east side of the River switching pulp bale boxcars.

.

A few days later, Friday afternoon July 7, I see the WC 2500 was switching the Stevens Point yard. .

A lot of their pictures will end up on Bob's web site WC 2 Scale picture collection for Wisconsin Central modelers

Again, more about the adventures in Rapids on a page to be written in a few days.
.

Upcoming event,
a lot of historic activities at the

Portage Plover Rendezvous

July 15-16 (Sat.-Sunday), 2006

at the Portage County Historical Society Historic Village in Plover, Wisconsin.

And with this summer's train operations, it seems the Commercial Job comes to Plover and often runs past this site daily, in the late afternoon on their way to the cannery.
