What's New

November 11, 1999 - Completely skipped over my rehiring at CORE and went straight to reflecting my new position at Voyager.net after the buyout of CORE.

September 3, 1998 - Changed my description on my home page and my contact info to reflect the fact that I no longer work at CORE.

November 10, 1997 - Added a picture of me to the Picture Page.

November 6, 1997 - Updated the Rotating Head of Death to Version 2.0. Now includes transparent background, less dithering, and a slower rotation (I was getting dizzy).

April 19, 1997 - Added mailing list info to the Point of Darkness page.

April 17, 1997 - Added a Point of Darkness page so I can be like all the other LARPers.

Sometime in Winter, 1997 - Added my Barren Realms pages to the Barren Realms Webring.

December 7, 1996 - Put in the infamous "Rotating Head o' Doom". No, it is not my mugshot!

November 13-14, 1995 - Updated my answering machine. Changed SIMBA to OAKLEY in the Barren Realms area list.

November 4-5, 1995 - Moved to CORE Digital Communication Services. Changed the structure of the Barren Realms pages.

October 31, 1995 - Added some info about Barren Realms new site.

October 10, 1995 - Finished removing all US Cyber references. Updated small things along the way.

July 23, 1995 - Added graphics to many of the BR pages. Changed the format of the BR area list. Updated small parts of info here and there.

July 22, 1995 - OK, so it's been a while. I've been busy. (Actually, this was all part of my plan. Now that the HTML specifications have matured, it's much easier to do what I want. ;-)

Upgraded to HTML 3.0 on all my pages. This will allow me to do some things that I couldn't before. The two that come to mind are nicer layout and tables. This may break a few older browsers, but people using browsers that can't handle HTML 3.0 without puking should upgrade anyway. I have also found a pretty much definitive reference on the ownership tags so I'm adding REV=MADE to all my docs. The BASE tag is also going in.

Finally corrected the spelling of US Cyber. Yes, there is a space in US Cyber.

The layout of the top of my home page is new and hopefully better looking.

Used the WIDTH and HEIGHT tages in pages with a lot of in-line images. This speeds up the initial display in browsers like Netscape.

Updated my Geek Code.

Added a reference to the alt.fan.asprin newsgroup.

Many small changes in the text.

May 19, 1995 - My answering machine works again! Thanks to Christine Beattie for getting me a new one.

May 16, 1995 - Updated the link to the MZF Home page. Changed wis.com to uscyber.com. Installed a test version of my answering machine. Quit blaming Argh! for Rainman's lazyness on my BR Home Page. Finally removed the old sppc1952 pages and replaced them with pointers to the new US Cyber pages.

April 23, 1995 - New area list for the Barren Realms Pages! (Finally) Added a reference to Autumn's pages too.

April 22, 1995 - The final clean-up before making these pages public on my new server. Tons of small formating changes were made. My answering machine doesn't work yet. Added Rainman's new info (email address and WWW page). Removed Barren Realms directions because they are outdated (I will be adding the new ones...)

March 10, 1995 - I am now working at US Cyber. I have added the MZF WWW Page. And I have added internal links to tables in the BR Builder Docs.

March 6, 1995 - Added some pictures to the Barren Realms Immortal page.

March 1, 1995 - Added a few things to my MUD pages including a reference to MS-Windows area building tools and Rainman's Barren Realms area builder's docs and fixed other little things on those pages.

February 28, 1995 - Doh! Quote signs (") are special characters in HTML and must be replaced with the " escape sequence.

February 19, 1995 - Corrected a number of little nitpicky things (spelling errors and such) and changed my reference to the SimTel archives from ftp to http.

February 19, 1995 - Added a new contacts page, finished the major changes to my answering machine, and changed links to a few pages.

February 15, 1995 - Added my first form in the form of my answering machine. ("Shape of a fish!" If you never watched Superfriends, ignore my ramblings.) Thanks to Chris for the help with this one.

February 15, 1995 - Very subtle rearranging of the <P> tag. There shouldn't be one next to Header, PRE, ADDRESS, BLOCKQUOTE, or (maybe) HR tags.

February 13, 1995 - Added other MUD Pages to my MUD page.

February 11, 1995 - Added Worf Tips. Right now it's just the barest bones of a web page and only contains the same things the old text file did, but soon it will have a lot more added to it.

February 11, 1995 - Fixed the reference to the Jargon File on the MUD definition page. I found out that a space before http (" http://junk.com/") is not a good thing. I also updated the definition itself.

February 11, 1995 - Reworked the titles and headers slightly. Im my explorations of documents on good HTML Style (check Fabio's Library for pointers), I gathered that the title should be a stand-alone discription of the page with good keywords for searching. But since some applications use the title as a reference to the page, it can't be too long either. On the other hand, the header can assume that the person knows why they're there. (i.e. "My Friends" can be a good header since you probably know who I am once you are there, but "Pictures of Andy Berkvam's Friends" might be a better title.)

February 9, 1995 - Pulled the Barren Realms MUD info onto its own page and added a page for the Barren Realms IMMs.

February 9, 1995 - Subtile rearranging of the pictures page and the addition of a new picture.

February 8, 1995 - Added a reference to Fabio's Mailbox and made my email addresses on the About Andy... page into hyperlinks.

February 7, 1995 - Pulled the MUD info into a separate MUD page and added a definition of a MUD.

February 6, 1995 - Sing and rejoice, for now my ugly mug is on the bottom of all my pages.

February 3, 1995 - Added a generic start page for Robert Lynn Asprin.

February 1, 1995 - Added the beginnings of a Robert Lynn Asprin bibliography.

February 1, 1995 - Added this What's New page.
